FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME ON OSCE/OSPE AND OUTCOME BASED LEARNING

ManibaBhula Nursing College has organized faculty development programme on "OSCE/OSPE and outcome based learning " on 22/02/2020 at Shrimad Hall, UTU campus, Bardoli.under the constant guidance and support of Dr.Rani Shetty , Principal of ManibaBhula Nursing college. There was an active participation of 70 faculties & postgraduate students of Nursing & Physiotherapy college. OSCE/OSPE is a versatile multipurpose evaluative tool that can be utilized to assess health care professionals in a clinical setting. It assesses competency, based on objective testing through direct observation. It is precise, objective, and reproducible allowing uniform testing of students for a wide range of clinical skills & Outcome based learning is a process that involves the restructuring of curriculum, assessment and reporting practise in education to reflect the achievement of high order learning and mastery rather than the accumulation of course credits. The aim of the FDP was to increase the knowledge & practice of OSCE/OSPE & outcome based learning. The FDP was organized by Ms.Shraddha Patel Faculty of Mental Health Nursing Department.The programme commenced with a short inaugural session. The resource person Dr.MaragathamS.,Professor cum HOD is one of most expert in OSCE/OSPE from Shri Bharani college of nursing, Salem, Tamil Nadu.The FDP included three sessions: Outcome based learning, Overview of OSCE/OSPE & Hand on training on OSCE/OSPE. The programme concluded with the certificate distribution and vote of thanks given by Ms.RidhdhiPatel ,Faculty of Medical Surgical Nursing Department.

School Health Programme

Department of Community Health Nursing of MBNC organized School health program,Mass health education & Nutritional program conducted by II yr Post Basic B.Sc& III yr GNM Students on 23 Dec 2019 at Nizar primary school ,Tarsadi , total number of 250 school children availed the benefit.

Lamp lighting ceremony-2019

The lamp lighting ceremony formally recognizes the students' entry into the nursing profession. Symbolically it has been celebrated with responsibility of promising the body of Nursing Profession. Therefore the first year Nursing Students are made to take the Oath of Florence Nightingale which is celebrated as 'Lamp Lighting & Oath taking Ceremony'.Lamp Lighting and Oath Taking Ceremony of 12th batch of B.Sc Nursing and 10th batch of GNM on 20th December 2019 @ PushpamTarsadia Auditorium -Uka Tarsadia University.

The programme started with UTU anthem Dr.Dipak Shah,Director Jeevan deep hospital, Hospital, Bardoli was the chief guest for the day,and ShriBagubhai Patel, President, BPKM, Bardoli. Was the guest of honor and Dr. D. R. Shah. Hon. Provost, UTU presided over the function. Also in attendance were other dignitaries including Dr. N. C. Shah, Advisor, UTU and Directors of various institutions. The welcome address was delivered by Dr.RniShetty Principal of ,MBNC following which the dignitaries were felicitated.Dr.Rani shetty recited the pledge foe the students.

The students and audience were addressed by Chief Guest Dr. DipakShah ,Guest of Honor, Shri Bhagubhai Patel and Dr. N. C. Shah and Dr. Dinesh R. Shah, Hon Provost of UTU. He congratulated the fresher students for choosing nursing profession and highlighted and appreciated the achievements of MBNC in the field of nursing education in Gujarat. The ceremony was concluded with vote of thanks by Ms. Parisha Chaudhari, Assistant Professor,MBNC. The function ended with national anthem.

School Health Programme

Dept of Community Health Nursing of ManibaBhula Nursing college and 2nd year Bsc.Nursing students has organized School Health Programme on 17th December 2019 at GOJI primary school. Total 75 children are participated and activities carried out during programme are Health assessment, Mass health Education and Nutritional Programme.

World Aids Day celebration -2019

Department of Community Health Nursing of ManibaBhula Nursing College organized theme based poster competition and Expert Talk on 2 Dec, account of WORLD AIDS DAY- 2019 on the theme "Communities makes the difference".Dr.Amrut Patel,Medical superintendent CHC,Bardoli was the expert for the session.

REPORT ON EXPERT TALK - "SENSITIZATION TO CHILD SEX ABUSE"

Maniba Bhula Nursing College and sexual harassment committee has organized an expert talk on "Sensitization to child sex abuse" on 15/11/2019 at Manjula Hall, UTU campus, Bardoli under the constant guidance and support of Dr. Rani Shetty Principal of Maniba Bhula Nursing college. There was an active participation of 350 students and faculties of MBNC, physiotherapy and sexual harassment committee members. Child rape and child sexual exploitation is the major problem of the whole world. India leads the world as a country with maximum cases of child sexual exploitation. Statistics show that in India, every 155 minutes, a child under 16 years of age is raped. Parents of sexually abused children are scared to tell anyone due to fear of being shamed in society. So to end the child sex abuse and to create awareness regarding this is the extreme need of the society. To fulfill this demand of society, department of child health nursing of Maniba Bhula Nursing college along with sexual harassment committee has invited Dr. Latika Shah, Assistant Professor, New Civil Hospital, Surat to sensitize the students regarding child sex abuse. Madam has completed her MD in Microbiology as well as in Pathology. She is the NABL Assessor as well as founder member of SURACCSA. The expert talk was organized by Ms. Rinal Barad and Ms. Shivani Mehta, Faculties of Child Health Nursing Department. Programme was commenced with UTU Anthem and welcome of Expert. Programme was proceed by Dr. Latika's expert training about child sex abuse. Madam has delivered talk about incidence of sexually abused child, concept of good touch and bad touch preventive measures of it and child helpline number. Madam has also made awareness regarding SURACCSA - Surat Citizen Council against Child sex abuse that is the "CHILD SEX ABUSE PREVENTION" awareness campaign and encourage students to join the campaign. Programme was ended with Vote of thanks given by Ms. Shivani Mehta.

REPORT ON University Day Celebration 2019: College level afforestation programme on 14th October 2019.

As part of the University Day Celebration 2019 we from MBNC conducted college level afforestation programme on 14th October 2019.Dr. D. R. Shah, Provost, UTU was Chief Guest and Shri. Bhagubhai Patel, President of BPKM and Shri. Kiritbhai PatelVice President UTUwas the Guest of Honor. The function was started around 10.30 am, Inaugural function began with the welcoming Dr.RaniShetty, Principal of MBNC with a tree pot. For planting trees, selected the back yard of MBNC, cleaned the area and planted Ayurveda and medicinal plants. The students of all courses and teachers were actively participated in it.

NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON - HEALTHY AGEING: THE FUTURE WE WANT

Maniba Bhula Nursing College organized a National level conference on Healthy ageing on 12/10/2019 with active participation of around 645 delegates and 5 expert resource persons across the state and country.The function commenced with the UTU Anthem and welcome of dignitaries and delegates. Inaugural function began with the lamp lightingby dignitaries. The function continued with the welcome address by Ms.Dhanya George. Theme was unfolded by Ms.Hiral Mistry, Organizing Secretary. The opening session was managed by Mrs.Joseph Elizabeth,Director, Wockhardt Hospital, Mumbaiand the moderator wasMr. Gibin Thomas Assistant Professor,MBNC. The second session was given by Dr.Meera Achrekar,DNS,ACTREC Mumbai and was moderated by Mr. Manjunath beth Associate Professor, MBNC. The third session was led byMr.Shailesh Mishra,Founder,Silver Innings,Mumba and the moderator was Ms.Suchismita Bhowmik Assistant Professor, MBNC.in afternoon first session was given byDr.Nidhi Doshi,Asst.Professor,Psychiatry Dept, SMIMER Hospital Surat and the moderator wasMs.Seetha Assistant Professor,MBNC. In afternoon second session was delivered by Mr.John Serlin Choudhary,Clinical Specialist,Arjohunthleigh Health Care India Pvt.Ltd,Mumbai and the moderator was Ms. Mamta J Patel Assistant Professor, MBNC and the Final session was given by Mr.Shailesh Mishra,Founder,Silver Innings,Mumbai and the moderator was Ms.Suchismita Bhowmik Assistant Professor,MBNC. Panel discussion was arranged on health of elderly:concern and solutions in India.Panelists were Dr.Anil Sharma Principal,Manikakatopavala college of Nursing,Changa,Nadiyad,Ms.SwatiGamit Assistant Professor,T & TV school of Nursing, Surat,Dr.Navin C. Shah Advisor,UTU andMr.Nilesh G Nalvaya,Representator Helpage India,Ahmedabad and Dr.Rani Shetty Principal MBNC acted as a Moderator for Group discussion. All the sessions were highly appreciated. There were a good number of participation for poster and paper presentation from faculty and students of several institutions. Dr.Rani Shetty Principal was the Organizing Chairperson and Ms.HiralMistry, lecturer, was the Organizing Secretary. The conference ended up by concluding notes, on stage feedback from delegates and vote of thanks by Ms.Ratna Parmar Nursing Tutor Maniba Bhula Nursing College.Dean and staff are highly indebted to all those who contributed towards the success of the national conference.

ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION AND FAREWELL FUNCTION @ MBNC - "HASTALAVISTA"

Annual Day Celebration and Farewell of 2nd batch of M.Sc (N),8th Batch B.Sc (N),6th Batch P.B.B.Sc (N) & 7th batch of GNM students were held on 9thOctober, 2019 from 9:30 am to 4 pm at Jatin Desai Hall. Dr. D. R. Shah, Provost, UTU was Chief Guest and Shri. Bhagubhai Patel, President of BPKM was the Guest of Honor and Shri. Kiritbhai Patel, Vice President UTU was present during the function. The function was started with UTU anthem.Inaugural function began with the lamp lighting by dignitaries.Dr.RaniShetty, Principal, MBNC presented Annual report of academic year 2018-19.Trophy for best out going students was given by Bhagubhaipatel and principal Dr Rani shetty.Certificates were given to those who secured 1st and 2nd in M.Sc (N),B.sc (N),P.B.B.Sc (N),GNM and also certificates of annual sports events distributed. MBNC celebrated 11th anniversaryof college by cake cutting in the presence of all dignitaries. Farewell to 2nd batch of M.Sc (N),8th Batch B.Sc (N), 6th Batch P.B.B.Sc (N) & 7th batch of GNM students was given and they were presented with college pin and mementos by Dr.RaniShetty, Principal, MBNC and Mr.Gibin ThomasAssistant Professor MBNC. Also they were blessed the students & suggested them about various career opportunities. Chief Guest Dr. D. R. Shah addressed themand encouraged student with his motivating words. ShriBhaguBhai Patel,ShriKiritbhai Patel,Dr.D.R Shah congratulated the winners and motivated the students with their inspirational words. The function was concluded with National Anthem.

Orientation Program for Ist year M.Sc., B.Sc, P.B.BSc and GNM students

ManibaBhula Nursing College, Bardoli organized an orientation programme for the newly admitted aspirant at the institute premises on 3rd October 2019. The major objective of the programme was to make the parents and students aware of the academic aspects of the course, the rules and regulations of the institute and ensuring parental cooperation in monitoring the performance and progress of the students throughout the course. The Student Orientation Program is designed to:

  • Familiarize students with the faculties, standards of the MBNC & UTU.
  • Accustom students with the history and traditions of MBNC & UTU
  • Aid students navigate the UTU campus and identify the resources available
  • Introduce Nursing as a Nobel profession including different speciality of nursing, career and scope.
  • Enlighten students regarding key information which will help them to adjust during the course and achieve academic success.

The orientation program began on 3rd October 2019 with the welcome of the students, their parents, principal and faculty members of MBNC. Total 5 M.Sc, 35 B.Sc, 20 P.B.B.Sc and 28 GNM students along with their parents participated in the programme. All the participants were welcomed by Principal Dr. Rani Shetty. She talked about importance of ethics and moral values in life. She motivated students and communicated regarding importance of knowledge, attitude and skills in nursing profession. Ms.Priyanka Gohil, Lecturer, stirred students with growth of BPKM, establishment of UTU and basic common facilities which are available at UTU for the students, a brief description of the institute, which included the motto, vision, mission, history and academic regulations & reputation of college, MOU with different hospital for the practice along with recent achievements.

Aari thali Competition 2019

Aarti Thali competition was organized by the social service club of MBNC on the theme of "Navli Navratri" at yoga hall Uka Tarsadia University on the date of 4th October, 2019. Total 26 groups participated in this competition from variuos institutes of UTU. All members of the social service club from each institute of UTU were actively involved in this arrangement.

The program reporting time was 12:00 pm and the program held between 12:30 pm to till 2:00 pm. Before starting the competition general instructions given to the participants regarding duration and preparation. The program was coordinated by all members of the Social Service Club. The program concluded with the evaluatory session and declaration of the winner by the guest.

As a part of this event institute level competition was arranged on 3rd October, 2019 by Ms. Sneha Chaudhari, Coordinator of social service club of MBNCat 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.Total 3 Groups of students have participated and it's evaluated by the principal of MBNC Dr. Rani Shetty and Assist. Professor Ms. Parisha Chaudhari.

Krishna janmashtami on 23th august

Maniba Bhula Nursing College celebrated Krishna janmashtami on 23th august at 2 pm onwards in MBNC. Approximately 350 students and 35 staffs took active participation in the programme. A beautiful backdrop was prepared with flowers and other decorations done by students. The programme began with Arti of lord Krishna. Both girls and boys students took part in the matki fod followed by DJ session including Garba raas. Snacks were arranged for the students.

The programme was a grand success and everyone present enjoyed it immensely.

World Breast feeding week celebration in MBNC

World Alliance for Breast Feeding Action (WABA) celebrates World Breast Feeding Week every year in 1st week of August with the theme that responds to the current Millennium Development Goals countdown process by asserting the importance of increasing & sustaining the protection, promotion & support of breast feeding. This is 27th year of celebration.

The WABA(World Alliances for Breastfeeding Action) coordinated the world breastfeeding theme in association with WHO and UNICEF. The theme of the year 2019 was "EMPOWER PARENTS ENABLE BREASTFEEDING"

The department of OBG & Pediatric Nursing, ManibaBhula Nursing College organized the public awareness campaign and health education in relation with World Breast feeding week 2019 on 7th August. It was celebrated by Staff & Students of MBNC, Uka Tarsadia University, Bardoli. Public Awareness Campaign & Health Education was conducted at Sardar Smarak hospital. Health education & Role play bring awareness among the people about importance of breast milk, benefits of breast feeding, demonstrate the techniques of breast feeding and diet requirements for lactating mothers and complication to mother & baby if breastfeeding is not practiced. More than 25 mothers, 90 students, OBG and Pediatric department Faculties participated in this event. They were addressed by Dr. Rani Shetty, Principal of MBNC. Mrs.SomiChaudhari, Matron, SardarSmarak Hospital, Bardoli and Mr Gibin Thomas, HOD Paediatric Department, MBNC. The Poster competition was also organized for the students. Total 7 groups of the students from B.Sc Nursing andP.B.B.Sc. Nursing were participated in poster competition.The prize was awarded to Champion & Runner up. The program was appreciated by Dr.Rani Shetty, Principal of MBNC.

Prayer Competition on 28th Aug, 2019

On occasion of Birthday celebration of our beloved patron Shree Bhagubhai patel, president of Bardoli Pradesh Kelavani Mandal, music club of Uka Tarsadiya University has organised prayer competition on 28th Aug, 2019. Out of the total 14 group of students participated, 3 students were from Maniba Bhula Nursing college .

International development program in collaboration with British Deputy High Commission, Gujarat, GTEP on 19th August, 2019

International Collaboration cell of UTU organized International development program in collaboration with British Deputy High Commission, Gujarat, GTEP on 19th August, 2019 at Manjula hall, UTU. The session held by Prof. Shital Bharwad. In that session, total 6 students of1st year MSc nursing from Maniba Bhula Nursing college participated out of total 80 participants.

GUJCOST sponsored two day national workshop on "Add Value to Research by Patenting" was organized at Maliba Pharmacy College (MPC), UkaTarsadia University (UTU), Bardoli on 9th & 10th August 2019.

GUJCOST sponsored two day national workshop on "Add Value to Research by Patenting" was organized at Maliba Pharmacy College (MPC), UkaTarsadia University (UTU), Bardoli on 9th & 10th August 2019. The workshop was aimed to guide the researchers about patent need, patentability criteria, patent drafting and patent filing procedure with real case studies. Two experts from the field of patent was invited as speakers for the workshop namely Dr. Sanjay Toshniwal and Dr.Mrudula Bele. Total 89 participants had registered for the workshop from that 13 students of first year M.Scnursing attented from Maniba bhula nursing college on day 2.

Rotary club and Rotrect club of Bardoli has organised Blood donation camp with collaboration of Satyagrah Hospital on 11th August, 2019

Rotary club and Rotrect club of Bardoli has organised Blood donation camp with collaboration of Satyagrah Hospital on 11th August, 2019 from 10am to 5pm, at Shree Sardar Smark Hospital, Bardoli. Total 8 students from4th year B.Sc. nursing participated in the event. Total number of blood bags collected was 157. The camp was successfully completed at 6 pm.

NATIONAL SEMINAR ON "WOMEN'S HEALTH AND WELLNESS FOR HEALTHY NATION 2030 (SDGs)" (09/8/2019)

Maniba Bhula Nursing College organized a National level seminar on women's health and wellness for healthy nation 2030 (SDGs) funded by DST & GUJCOST on 09/08/2019 at Manjula Hall, UTU Campus with active participation of 393 delegates and 5 expert resource persons across the state.Women health is important that every woman has access to knowledge related to spectrum of women's health issues, not only about her reproductive system, but all aspects of her body. The seminar was designed with the coordinated efforts of Ms.Meghna Gosvami Organizing secretory, Ms.Rinal Barad joint Secretary and Ms.Hiral Mistry, Ms.Dhaniya George, Ms.Khusbhu Bhavsar, Ms.Sejal Suchal and Ms.AmitaChaudhari, are event Coordinators. The function commenced with the UTU Anthem and welcome of dignitaries and delegates.Inaugural function began with the lamp lightinging the honourable presence of Dr. Rani Shetty, Mrs.Smittal Chaudhari and Dr.Sheetal Gandhi. The function continued with the welcome address by Ms Shraddha patel, lecturer, MBNC, UTU. A fabulous theme presentation was delivered by Ms.MeghnaGoswami, Organizing secretary.The opening session was managedby Dr Rani Shetty, Director of ManibaBhula Nursing College, UTU, Bardoli, Surat, India.The chairperson was Mrs.Dhaniya George, Lecturer of MBNC. The second session was given by Dr.Sheetal Gandhi, Dietician & Nutritionist, Bardoli, Surat and chairperson was Mrs.KhusbhuBhavsar, Lecture of MBNC. The third session was lead by Mrs.Khayati Patel, Assistant lecturer of S.S. Agrawal College of Nursing, Navsariand the chairperson was Mrs.Rinal Barad, lecturer of MBNC Forth session was delivered byDr Avani Patel, MD (OBG and Gynec) CHC, Bardoli and the chairperson was Ms.Amita Chaudhari, Lecturer of MBNC. Final session was delivered by Ms.Hiral Mistry, Lecturer, Msc.(OBG), MBNC and chairperson was Ms.Shivani Mehta, Lecturer of MBNC. Lastly information regarding menstrual cup was delivered by Mr.Ashish Malani, CA from Mumbai. He has explained about the benefits of menstrual cup. In the end, Panel discussion organized on "Empowerment of women: Governmental Initiative". Panelists were Mrs.Minaben Tailor, B.Com, LLB advocate and Notary, Bardoli. Ms.Rozy Patel, Director of Humanities and Development, UTU, Bardoli. Ms.HiralMistry, Lecturer, M.Sc.(OBG), MBNC.Panel discussion was moderated by Ms.SejalSuchal, Lecturer, MBNC. All the sessions were highly appreciated and shed light on several new aspects on women Health. There were a good number of participation for poster and paper presentation from faculty and students of several institutions.In valedictory Brief report about seminar was summarized by Ms.Meghana Goswami, Organizing secretary. Feedback about the seminar was given by Mrs.Smittal Chaudhari, GNC Observer. She distributedthe prizes for poster Presentation. The programme concluded with the feedback from delegates of various institution and vote of thanks by Ms.RinalBarad, Joint secretary of this seminar. By the National Anthem National seminar was ended.
