An expert talk on women empowerment was organized by MBNC at Shrimad Hall, Uka Tarsadia University on 16thMay 12.30 PM.Female faculties and approximately 120 students took active participation. It was delivered by the representative of the Vibrant Gujarat, Mrs. ZankhanaTrivedi. This expert talk involved the various challenges faced by women in the present society and measures to tackle such issues. She widely covered all the areas where every woman is suffering in her day to day life, from personal to professional, from knowledge to skill, existence and acceptance by society.
The programbegan with welcoming of the speaker Mrs.ZankhanaTrivedi,Dr. Kavitha N.,Director, MBNC, faculties and students of MBNC. The programme was coordinated by Ms. PriyankaGohil, Nursing Tutor, Department of OBG.
The program concluded with interactive session and vote of thanks.
MBNC celebrated International Nurses Day on May 12th 2018 with reference to the theme of the year "Nurses: A voice to lead-Health is a human right". International Nurses day is celebrated every year all around the world on 12th May to commemorate the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale and to make the Nurses contributions towards people's health.Each year, the International Nurses Day selects a theme highlighting a particular priority area of public health.An essay writing competition was organized on the theme "Nurses: A voice to lead-Health is a human right" for Nursing students and the programme was co-ordinated by Ms. SuchismitaBhowmik and Ms. Parisha Chaudari,Asst. Professor, Community Health Nursing Department.A total number of 35students from all courses MSc(N), BSc (N), PBBSC (N), GNM participated in the essay writing competition, which was held at library of MBNC, UTU.
As part of the curriculum, first year M.Sc, PBB.Sc, B.Scand GNMstudents of MBNC organized Nutri-Fest-2018 on 4thand 5th May. Total 130 students have participated in the event, guided by MsParishaChaudhari, Asst Professor and MsNilamRathod, Nursing Tutor. Students were divided in to 6 groups.They prepared therapeutic diet for patients with various disease conditions likeAnaemia, PEM, Cardio Vascular diseases, Renal diseases, Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension on 04-05-2018. On 05-05-2018, each group of students were given certain ingredients as theme to prepare food items like, Cereals, Pulses, Millets, Milk and its products, Fruits and Vegetables. With the use of these ingredients they prepared different dishes like Khichri, Chapatti, Roti, Sprouts, Beans Burritos, Porridge, Milk shake, Fruit dishes, Fruit Salads, Vegetable Carving and salads, Mix vegetable curry etc.
The programme was inaugurated by ShriBhagubhai Patel, President, BPKM, Bardoli in the gracious presence of Shri. Kiritbhai Patel, Vice-President, UTU, Dr. D. R. Shah, Hon. Provost, UTU and other dignitaries. The programme was evaluated by Directors and faculty of various departments of Uka Tarsadia University and Dr. Kavitha N, Director MBNC. The efforts of the students have been appreciated. All the dignitaries, directors and faculty joined for the delicious lunch and tasted the various nutritious diet prepared by the students.
1st price was secured by group no.4 and second price was secured by group no. 1 and 3.
MBNC celebrated World Health Day on April 7th 2018, with reference to the theme of the year "UNIVERSAL HEALTH COVERAGE: EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE" and the slogan "HEALTH FOR ALL". Each year, the World Health Organization (WHO) selects a theme highlighting a particular priority area of public health.". In this 70th anniversary year, WHO is calling on world leaders to live up to the pledges they made when they agreed the Sustainable Development Goals in 2015 and commit to concrete steps to advance Health For All.
The programme was organized by Medical Surgical Nursing Department of MBNC at Shrimad Hall, UTU.Unfolding of thetheme was done byDr D R Shah, Honorable Provost, UTU andDr. Kavitha Narayanan,Dean & Principal, MBNC. The theme was introduced by Mr. Manjunath Beth, HOD, Medical Surgical Nursing Department.A panel discussion wasorganizedby Ms. Anu Baby, Asst. Professor with first year M.Sc. Nursing students of MSN department. Also a Quiz competition was conducted by Ms.SeethaThottuvelil, Asst. Professor along with second year M.Sc. Nursing students of MSN department. Nearly 10 groups from various batches participated in the theme based Rangoli competition.
The programme concluded with the prize distribution and vote of thanks.
Maniba Bhula Nursing College organized a National level conference on Global Healthcare Reforms: Integrating Evidence Based Practice on 23/03/2018 with active participation of around 900 delegates and 4 expert resource persons across the state and country.The function commenced with the UTU Anthem and welcome of dignitaries and delegates. Perspectives of MBNC and UTU were delivered by Mr Gibin Thomas, Organizing Secretary. Inaugural function began with the lamp lightingin the honorable presence of ShriArvindbhai Patel, Guest of Honor & Deputy Secretary, BPKM, Bardoli. The function continued with the welcome address by Prof. Chanagiri Aurasang, Organizing Chairman and mesmerizing addresses by Shri. I. A. Kadiwala, Chief Guest & Vice President, Gujarat Nursing Council and MrsIndravatiRao, Gujarat nursing Council Observer. Mr. Sanjay Dabhi, Asst. Professor, GCON, Surat also graced the occasion as a GNC observer. A fabulous theme presentation was delivered by Dr Kavitha Narayan, Patron of the conference & Dean, MBNC. The opening session was managedby Dr Sanjay Peerapur, Principal, KLES' Institute of Nursing Sciences, Hubliand the moderator was MrCharan P. M., Principal, Parul Institute of Nursing, Vadodara. The second session was given by Dr Anil Sharma, Principal, MTIN, Charusat University, Anand and was moderated by Mr H B Ramdurg, Principal, KIMS Nursing College, Hubli. The third session was led by Dr Vishnu Renjith, National Coordinator, Indian Stroke Clinical Trial Network, SCTIMST, Trivandrum and the moderator was MrAshish Jain, Principal, S SAgrawal College of Nursing, Navsari. Final session was delivered by Dr Ravindra H. N., Principal, Sumandeep College of Nursing, Baroda and the moderator was Mr. Vinayak I. Patil, Principal, KLES' Institute of Nursing Sciences, Dandeli. All the sessions were highly appreciated and shed light on several new aspects in the field of global healthcare. There were a good number of participation for poster and paper presentation from faculty and students of several institutions. Prof. Chanagiri Aurasang, HOD, Community Health Nursing was the Organizing Chairman and Mr. Gibin Thomas, Asst. Professor, Department of Child Health Nursing was the Organizing Secretary. The conference concluded with magnificent speech by Dr D R Shah, Honorable Provost, UTU, concluding notes, on stage feedback from delegates and vote of thanks by Mr. Jinto Philip, HOD, Department of Mental Health Nursing. Maniba Bhula Nursing College Dean and staff are highly indebted to all those who contributed towards the success of the national conference.

SNA ANNUAL SPORTS REPORT 2018
Maniba Bhula Nursing College organized the SNA Annual Sports from 14th to 17th February 2018. A sports committee was formulated by the Director, MBNC for organizing the events, with the members Mr. Gibin G. Thomas (SNA Advisor), Mr. Manjunath Beth and Mr. Jinto Philip (Sports Coordinators). The entire students of MBNC were divided in to four houses - Blue, Green, Orange and Yellow. Faculty members were also equally divided in to the same houses for guidance and encouraging the students' participation. Outdoor events were conducted on 14th and 15th, indoor events on 16th and 17th February 2018.
The programme started on 14th February with inauguration ceremony. Dr. Kavitha N, Director, MBNC and Mr. Sunil Gamit, SrimadRajchandra School of Sports inaugurated the Annual Sports 2018 by ribbon cutting. It was followed by march-past of the students and Sports oath taking. Thereafter, the events for the day started and all the students and faculty actively participated in various events with full sportsman spirit throughout the four days.
The Track events were 100 meter race, 200 meter race and 4x100 meter relay. Shot Put, Discus Throw, Javelin Throw, Volleyball, Cricket, Kabaddi, Tug of war and Kho-Kho were the field events. Indoor games were Badminton, Carom and chess. Tug of war and musical chair competition was separately conducted for the staff of MBNC. Overall trophy, certificates and medals will be distributed on the occasion of the Annual Day function of the college.
MASS HEALTH EDUCATION, NUTRITIONAND SCHOOL HEALTH PROGRAMME
School Health and Mass Health Education programme organized by the Department of Community Health Nursing and Child Health Nursing, MBNC at Nizar Govt. school, at Nizar village on 09/02/2018 from 10-30 am to 3 pm.
The Programme was inaugurated by Prof. Chanagiri Aurasang,HOD of Community Health Nursing, Ms. L. Diva Chanu, HOD of Child Health Nursing, Mrs. Jayshreeben,Head Mistress of Nizar Govt. School and Shri. Umeshbhai, Voice Surpunch of Nizar Village. The Programmes was organized by Department of Community Health Nursing and Child Health Nursing, co-ordinated by Ms.ParishaChaudhari, Ms. SuchismitaBhomikand MrGibin Thomas of MBNC and school teachers of Nizar.
Mass health education programme was arranged by our students on various communicable disease and social issues on children. A total No. of 250 students were physically examined by M.Sc. Nursing, Second year P.B.B.Sc. Nursing and first year GNM Students among that 25% students were suffering with communicable diseases and 40% children suffering with nutritional disorders, 12% of the student suffering with skin and vitamin deficiency disorders and rest are found to be normal.
As part of School Health Programme Nutritious food was served to all school children by our students. The programme was highly successful and report was submitted to Medical officer, Primary Health Center Sarbhon.

The Florence Nightingale inspired rite of lamp lighting ceremony for the 10th batch of B.Sc. Nursing and 8th batch of GNM students of ManibaBhula Nursing College, UkaTarsadia University was held on January 13, 2018 at 3.00 pm in Pushpam Tarsadi Hall, Maliba Campus, Bardoli.The lamp is an international symbol of nursing, which represents a lit lamp used by of Florence Nightingale, widely considered the founder of modern nursing, while caring for injured soldiers during the Crimean war. The lamp lighting ceremony formally welcomes students to the nursing profession.
The programme started with UTU anthem. Shri B. U. Patel, Patron in chief, UTU graced the occasion as Chief Guest andthe Guest of Honor for the ceremony was Mr. Iqbal A. Kadiwala, Vice President, Gujarat Nursing Council. ShriBagubhai Patel, President, BPKM, Bardoli presided over the function. Also in attendance were other dignitaries including Shri Ramanbhai Patel, Shri Baldev Thakor, Shri Babubhai Madhavbhai Patel, ShriKiritbhai Patel, Vice President, UTU, and Hon. Provost of UTU Dr. Dinesh R. Shah. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. KavithaNarayanan, Director/Principal, MBNC following which the dignitaries were felicitated. The function was inaugurated with the traditional?lighting of the lamp' by the esteemed dignitaries. It was followed by passing of the light by Guest of Honor Mr. Iqbal A. Kadiwala and Dr. Kavitha Narayanan to Ms. DivyaChaudhari and Ms. ParishaChaudhari, class coordinators of first year B.Sc Nursing and first year GNM which was further passed on to 50 B.Sc nursing and 39 GNM students by the distinguished dignitaries. Dr. Kavitha Narayanan, Director/ Principal, MBNC recited the Nightingale pledge to the students. Mr. SateeshBiradar, Vice Principal, MBNC presented the perspectives of MBNC.
The Chief Guest of the function Shri B. U. Patel congratulated and blessed the novice students in his inspirational speech. Guest of Honor, Mr. Iqbal A. Kadiwala congratulated the fresher students for choosing nursing profession and highlighted and appreciated the achievements of MBNC in the field of nursing education in Gujarat. The students and audience were then enthralled by the rousing speech of Dr. Dinesh R. Shah, Hon Provost of UTU. He congratulated the students and inspired the students to make their future as valuable as possible by doing hard work & focusing on their studies.ShriBaldevThakor and ShriBagubhai Patel also addressed the gathering with their enlightening words. The ceremony was concluded with vote of thanks by Mr. ChannagiriAurasang, HOD, Community Health Nursing Department, MBNC. The students and staff performed diverse cultural programs after the vote of thanks. The function ended with national anthem.

Celestium 2017 begins with utu anthem followed by the official innaguration of the event carried out by Sri Bagubhai Patel President of BPKM lighting up the lamp by Mr.Kirit Patel ,Vice president of UTU Dr.D.R Shah,Provost of UTU, Dean Dr. Kavitha N and Mr Sateesh Biradar vice principal of MBNC.
Hon Provost of UTU addressed the gathering and welcome all fresher's to UkaTarsadia University Dr.Kavitha N Inspired and motivated the fresher's with her speech and wish them a pleasant stay at UTU and MBNC also she added her view regarding the importance to develop confidence and positive attitudes in students. Mr.Sateesh Biradar congratulated with his address to the fresher's batch to choose nursing as a career more over he highlighted the excellent attributes of MBNC.
The organizers of celestium 2017 by 2nd Year M.Sc. students and they organized the event with many visual and cultural feast like theme based events, dance performances, fashion contest to hunt Mr.& Ms. Fresher and so on .The students participated in different cultural events with full of enthusiasm .The function folded up with national anthem.
We the Dean, faculties and students of MBNC have celebrated World AIDS Day-2017 on December 1st, 2017 by organizing Poster Competition and Blood Donation Camp on the theme 'Increasing Impact Through Transparency, Accountability and Partnership' of AIDS day. The programme was started with Poster competition in the morning at 9 am.
The programme was inaugurated by Mrs. Kavita Narayanan, Principal, MBNC, Bardoli and Dr. Amrut Patel, Medical Superintendent,Cl-I Bardoli Satyagraha Hospital, Bardoli. The programme progressed and about 200 students of UTU participated in blood donation camp and 20 students participated in poster competition.
School Health Assessment and Mass Health Education Programehas beenorganized by the Department of Community Health Nursing, MBNC at Pathradiya Govt. school, Pathradiya village on 24/11/2017 from 9 am to 2 pm.
The Programmewas inaugurated by the Principal Dr. Kavitha N and Head master of Pathradiyaschool. Mr.ChanagiriAurasung, HOD Community Health Nursing, Mr. SateeshBiradar, vice Principal of MBNC and Mrs Diva Chanu, HOD Child Health Nursing and school teachers of Pathradiya school and Anganwadiworker , the villagers werewitnessed the programme as guests. The program was co-ordinated byAst. Prof. Ms.SuchismitaBhowmik and Asst. Prof. Ms. Parisha Chaudhari, along with 3rd year GNM students of MBNC.A total No. of 53 School and Anganwadichildren were examined by third year GNM nursing students among that25% (13) children were identified withcommon cold and 20% (10) children's found with mild to moderate mal-nutrition problems.The rest of all children found normal.
The programme was completed with great success and obliged to the school management and students.
The World Federation of Mental Health (WFMH) jointly with World Health Organization celebrated World Mental Health day on October 10. It even mark the 25th anniversary of World Mental Health day as it was pronounced from 1992.
This event calls attention to a timely mental health issue. This year's theme, "MENTAL HEALTH IN THE WORKPLACE," addresses the value of promoting well-being in work settings of all kinds, from agriculture to industry, finance, government, technology, and beyond. Mental health is often neglected as a key aspect of employees' overall health, yet the World Health Organization points out that depression heads the list of causes of illness and disability worldwide.
The department of Mental Health Nursing, Maniba Bhula Nursing College organised an expert talk on the occassion of Mental Health day on 9th October 2017, aiming at the betterment of work place interaction, and management of work issues. The expert talk was organized in the Manjula Hall of UTU and the programme started at 2.45 pm. The program was started by welcoming of dignitaries, directors and faculties of various institutions of UTU by Ms. Lida Maria Danny. Asst Professor, MBNC. Mr. Sateesh Birader. Vice Principal and HOD of Mental Health Department, MBNC Bardoli, did the introduction of guest and the theme. He emphasized that those who experience depression or other disorders may be unable to work or may be less than fully productive. Many of these illnesses can be treated, but access to treatment is often difficult, and stigma may prevent people from seeking services even when they are available. A healthy workplace benefits workers and employers alike. The guest lecture delivered by Dr. Parag Shah, HOD, Psychiatric Dept. SMIMER, Surat onMENTAL HEALTH IN THE WORKPLACE. He explained about the stages of burn out, modes and methods of healthy living &stress management.He put forwards various tips for improving work place practices, which include Appreciation of employees and workers, Creating of a supportive environment, Identification of early signs of burnout, Creating an organizational culture which reflects value systems and beliefs, Stress management, Building awareness and reducing stigma, Mental health wellness and providing support for employees who need it.The talk was concluded by 4pm with vote of thanks.

Farewell to 6th Batch B.Sc (N) & 4thBatch P.B.B.Sc (N) & GNM students was given and they were presented with mementos by Dr.Kavitha .N, Principal, MBNC and Mr.Satish Biradar Vice principal MBNC also they were blessed the students & suggested them various career opportunities. Chief Guest Dr. D. R. Shah addressed the gathering and encouraged student with his motivating words. Shri Baggu Bhai Patel ,Shri Kiritbhai Patel,Dr.D.R Shah congratulated the winners and motivated the students with their inspirational words. The function was concluded with National Anthem.
World Alliance for Breast Feeding Action (WABA) celebrates World Breast Feeding Week every year in 1st week of August with the theme that responds to the current Millennium Development Goals countdown process by asserting the importance of increasing & sustaining the protection, promotion & support of breast feeding. This is 25th year of celebration.
The WABA( World Alliances for Breastfeeding Action) co-ordinated the world breastfeeding theme in association with WHO and UNICEF. The theme of the year 2017 was "SUSTAINING BREASTFEEDING -TOGETHER"
The department of OBG & Pediatric Nursing, ManibaBhula Nursing College organized the public awareness campaign and health education in relation with World Breastfeeding week 2017 on 5th August 2017. It was celebrated by Staff & Students of MBNC, UkaTarsadiaUniversity, Bardoli. Public Awareness Campaign & Health Education was conducted at SardarSmarak hospital and Satyagrah Hospital.Health education & Role play bring awareness among the people about importance of breast milk, benefits of breast feeding, demonstrate the techniques of breast feeding and dietrequirements for lactating mothers and complication to mother & baby if breastfeeding is not practiced. More than 75 mothers, 100 students, Faculty and Health workers participated in this event. They were addressed by Dr.Amrut Patel, Medical Superitendent, Satyagrah Hospital, Dr.GangaramKantya, Medical Superintendent, SardarSmarak Hospital, Bardoli and Mrs.KinjalMistry, Assistant Professor,OBG Dept, MBNC at Satyagrah Hospital &Sardar Hospital. The Poster competition was also organized for the students. The 17 students of B. Sc., P.B.B.Sc., M.Sc. were participated in poster compition.The prize was awarded to Champion & Runner up. The program was appreciated byDr.Kavitha Narayanan, Principal of MBNC andMr. SateeshBiradar, Vice- principal, MBNC.Students and faculty of MBNC of UTU attended the function.
